2022 brought great news to our Group. One of the most challenging concerns the transfer of the activities carried out in the Almisano plant to the headquarters in Montecchio Maggiore.
The strategic choice of bringing together the activities of the Italian office in a single site arises from the need to create the conditions for a greater integration and synergy among the various company functions, to more effectively address the complexities deriving from the external scenario, make more efficient our processes, facilitating comparison and speed of problem resolution.
The redevelopment works of the Montecchio area, coordinated by Matteo Frigo, started last March, and foresee as a first step the transfer of the warehouse and the start of a part of the production activity by June.
The future of the automotive market is well identified by the word C.A.S.E., an acronym that groups the main characteristics of the car and the mobility of the future: Connected, Autonomous, Shared and Electrified.
The Elettra Group is following this market trend thanks to the introduction of the AVAS product, the device dedicated to hybrid and electric cars that allows the emission of a warning sound in certain phases of the car's movement (starting, parking and reversing). About 8 years after its introduction on the market, customers of the caliber of Volvo and Stellantis have appreciated the quality of our product, which in a short time has already reached the 6.5% share of the Group's 2021 global turnover.
The R&D team is constantly working to develop new versions of this device and we are sure that other customers will also trust our product by assigning us the supply of new lines.
The Salt Battery has been produced for 20 years by FZSONICK in Stabio (Switzerland). It’s an high-density energy storage system made of cells containing natural materials abundantly available in nature such as sodium chloride (common table salt) and nickel.
During charging activity, the Sodium Chloride (NaCl) reacts with the metal powders present inside the positive pole, mainly Iron and Nickel. At the same time the sodium ions (Na +) are removed through the solid electrolyte, a membrane consisting of a ceramic ionic super conductor in aluminum oxide (beta alumina), to form the anode compartment (negative pole) consisting of metallic sodium. During the discharge, when the circuit is closed, the opposite reaction occurs spontaneously.
It is a very safe battery, completely recyclable and sustainable, it does not pollute, does not emit dangerous gases, does not catch fire and maintains its performance at both low and high temperatures. It is used in residential, backup and industrial applications.
Due to its high safety standards, the battery can be placed in the same rooms where the electrical systems are located.
In order to increase employee awareness of the company's products and understand business development, FIAMM Autotech organized last March 25th the first of a series of meetings dedicated to product training and aimed at all office staff and technicians. Internal teacher of the course was Tiger Gu, Quality Control & Customer Return Analyst, in the company since 12 years and expert of our products.
The first course dedicated to the AM80SX product was interactive and gave space for everyone to share the problems encountered in their work. This training was appreciated, and gave rise to the desire in those present to be able to participate in new training sessions also in the future. To confirm this, in the coming weeks the HR team will continue with the organization of new courses on the other products of the company: mechanical horns, Antennas and AVAS.
